7. Charleston Dance
Charleston is a jazz dance that was extremely popular in the 1920s and has been revived frequently. It can be done alone, in pairs, or in groups. The basic foot figure consists of throwing the tips of the feet inward and the heels outward. Charleston, whose name can be found in 1903 records, is an African-American folk dance known in all southern states of the USA, especially in South Carolina, identified with the city of Charleston.
