27. Salar de Uyuni (Salt Lakes), Bolivia

Salar de Uyuni is one of the largest salt lakes in the world with an area of 10,582 km². It is located in the southwest of Bolivia at an altitude of 3,653 m and is considered the natural pinnacle of the Altiplano Plateau, together with Lake Titicaca.

It is more like a hard ice-cold lake with its radiant brightness during the day and its harsh frost at night. But when you walk, it’s not ice that creaks under your feet but coarse salt crystals.
