4. YUYUAN
This garden in Shanghai has a total area of five acres. It was built in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty. It was designed by a government official called Pan Yunduan to help their parents live a calm and happy life in their old age. The garden is also known by the name “Yu”. In Chinese, “Yu” means pleasant and satisfying.
