In 1967, when DJ Kool Herc was throwing parties in the West Bronx, people were dancing and communicating. Thus, the foundations for the emergence of Breaking and Hip Hop dance were laid. Bounce, Groove and Rock are the basic elements of Hip Hop dance. In fact, Hip Hop dance is a genre that includes many dance styles. In the African-American language, “Hip” is a name given to the areas in the body that move, and it also means development. The word ‘hop’ also means to jump. When these two words come together, they symbolize the purpose of this culture, namely progress, understanding life and development.
