10. Mazurka Dance

Mazurka is a kind of Polish folk dance and music native to the province of Mazuria. The melodies of this dance influenced all European music in the Romantic era. Mazurka, which emerged in the 16th century, remained a peasant dance, although it was adopted by the Polish Palace. It later reached the Russian and German ballrooms, and in the 1830s it reached England and France. It is usually done by one, four, or eight couples. There are more than fifty different dance steps. Chopin composed many mazurkas for piano.
