He also starred in several movies, such as Love Me Tender (1956), Jailhouse Rock (1957), King Creole (1958), Blue Hawaii (1961), and Viva Las Vegas (1964). He sold over one billion records worldwide and won three Grammy Awards. He died in 1977 at the age of 42.
