Also known as “crazy dance” or “dance of the spider” among Italians, tarantella is a traditional dance type that emerged in the 15th century. This dance, which is said to take its name from the spider named tarantula, is a ritual performed to expel the venom of a spider bite from the body.
Although there are rumors about it, it can be said that this active dance, which was extremely common in the 17th century, has such a reputation as it accelerates blood circulation and causes sweat from the body.
